About Mukiza Gorilla Lodge
Mukiza Gorilla Lodge is a peaceful forest retreat located on the northern edge of Uganda's magnificent Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Our lodge combines comfort, privacy and breathtaking natural scenery, creating a memorable base for travellers exploring the home of mountain gorillas.
Our forest-view suites and cabins are tucked into the hillside. Each accommodation offers a private viewing deck and uninterrupted views across the forested valley. Spacious, glass-fronted rooms welcome natural light and bring the beauty of the surrounding landscape into your stay.
Every room is thoughtfully designed with a king-sized bed, indoor and outdoor seating options, and an en-suite bathroom and closet with beautiful forest views.
Mukiza offers an excellent location for guests planning gorilla trekking adventures, with access to the Buhoma and Ruhija trekking sectors of Bwindi, subject to the location and availability of your trek permit.
Our Commitment to Forest Conservation
At Mukiza Gorilla Lodge, we believe that tourism should contribute to the protection of the natural environment and create meaningful opportunities for neighbouring communities.
We are working towards establishing a forest buffer zone on the land surrounding the lodge. This long-term initiative began with four acres and aims to support forest conservation while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for local communities and the Batwa people, whose history is deeply connected to the forest.
Through responsible hospitality and community-focused initiatives, we aspire to support the conservation of Bwindi's remarkable ecosystem for future generations.
